Programming pioneer Bjarne Stroustrup will host a two-day tutorial for C++ offering a rare opportunity for attendees at EE Live! 2014 to see and learn from the man who invented the popular language. A number of attendees who sign up for the tutorial soon will have the chance to get a copy of his book and attend an invite-only book signing.
Each year, EE Live! gathers electronics design engineers and tech professionals from all over the world to catch up on the latest trends, learn from their peers, and network with others in their industry. This year’s event, which will be held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center on March 31 – April 3, will host seven different programs, including the Embedded Systems Conference, targeted summits, and educational boot camps.
The Super C++ Tutorial will take place during the first two days of EE Live! 2014, and will be co-hosted by Stroustrup and Microsoft’s Software Architect Herb Sutter. Stroustrup is the designer and original implementer of C++, and has authored several books and academic publications about the language. He is a Distinguished Professor and College of Engineering Chair in Computer Science at Texas A&M University. Sutter is a prominent C++ expert and the chair of the ISO C++ standards committee.
Whether you’ve only used C++ for a year or are a top C++ guru, the Super C++ Tutorial is a rare opportunity for you to spend time with two world leaders in C++. Stroustrup and Sutter will present the most important things C++ developers need to know in 2014 in this training opportunity. They will present balanced coverage of both the core language with its powerful new features, and the expanding standard library.
The two will also examine modern techniques and best practices you can use with current compilers, together with forward-looking information about new features coming and expected to be broadly available in the next year. Along with panels where both speakers share their insights and answer participants’ questions, these C++ world leaders will share their perspectives on the language with the deep context and expertise that only these instructors can uniquely bring. The full slate of lessons they have planned for the Super C++ Tutorial is available to view here.
And the first 30 people who sign up for EE Live! 2014’s Super C++ Tutorial will get a copy of Stroustrup’s book, A Tour of C++, as well as an opportunity to attend an invite-only book signing with the author.
You can purchase an All Access pass (does not include access to the tutorial) and/or a Super C++ Tutorial pass for EE Live! 2014 at the conference’s official site.
